Vulture's Dance: A Mayan Archaeological Mystery

Skyler Jace is back in the Yucatan where she discovers the shocking contents of a sarcophagus that could shake up the scientific community. But could it be a hoax or, worse, a sinister conspiracy? Her assistant, Noemi, believes that a vulture that visited Skyler's casita is a harbinger of death and destruction. Skyler does not buy it but one must wonder as attempts on her life increase. The lush jungle becomes a backdrop to murder and intrigue as Skyler fights for time to establish the truth.

The cast of characters includes Antonio de Lorca, a wealthy archaeologist who has become Skyler's good friend, or maybe more? So wonders the local police Comandante who develops a personal interest in Skyler. Five volunteers arrive at the dig just as the sarcophagus is discovered: a wealthy stockbroker; a grandma; an undergraduate student; a college dropout; and a blue-collar worker. They get more than they bargained for on this trip!

The Vulture's Dance is not just a modern-day mystery. Woven into this novel is the history of the inexplicable Maya abandonment of their cities and what part the supernatural may have played in its inception.

As in Shadow of the Jaguar, (the first novel in the Skyler Jace Archaeological Mystery Series), danger, romance, and tidbits of Mayan history abound in this whodunit.
