World Caribbean Books Hosts Inaugural Launch - Christmas Book Fair at Goodman’s Bay

NASSAU, THE BAHAMAS — December 13, 2025 — World Caribbean Books successfully hosted its first inaugural World Caribbean Books Christmas Book Fair on Saturday, December 13, at Goodman’s Bay, bringing together families, readers, authors, and vendors for a vibrant celebration of literature, culture, and community.

The one-day outdoor book fair featured a wide range of titles, including children’s books, Bahamian publications, Caribbean authors, and international bestsellers. Attendees enjoyed browsing books in a relaxed beachfront setting while meeting authors, engaging with vendors, and discovering stories from across The Bahamas, the Caribbean, and the wider world.

A highlight of the event was the strong family turnout, with children attending and selecting books of their own. The fair emphasized literacy, access to books, and the importance of storytelling in Caribbean households. Local Bahamian authors were also showcased, offering readers an opportunity to connect directly with the voices behind the stories.

“This fair was created to bring books, culture, and community together in a meaningful and accessible way,” said representatives of World Caribbean Books. “Seeing children excited about reading, families exploring books together, and authors engaging with readers made the day incredibly special.”

The Christmas Book Fair marked a significant milestone for World Caribbean Books, reinforcing its mission to expand access to books and celebrate Caribbean voices while connecting readers to global literature. Following the success of this inaugural event, plans are already underway to make the World Caribbean Books Christmas Book Fair an annual tradition.

🎄 World Caribbean Books — Caribbean’s Largest Christmas Book Fair (Dec 13–14, 2025)

In December 2025, World Caribbean Books (WCB) will debut what is positioned to become the Caribbean’s largest Christmas Book Fair, hosted across two simultaneous locations in Nassau, The Bahamas: the historic Nassau Public Library and the popular beachfront park at Goodman’s Bay. The two venues are only 3.7 miles (6 km) apart, offering international visitors clear proximity and seamless movement between both sites during the December 13–14 event.

The dual-location format reflects both the scale of the fair and WCB’s goal of making books accessible to an even broader audience. The Nassau Public Library will serve as the fair’s cultural and historical centerpiece, while Goodman’s Bay will host outdoor book displays, family activities, food vendors, and community programming against the backdrop of one of Nassau’s most well-known beaches.

World Caribbean Books — a fast-growing Caribbean-owned global publishing and retail platform — developed the event to meet rising regional demand for book access, cultural representation, and international visibility. With a retail catalog exceeding 22 million titles and distribution to more than 190 countries, WCB is leveraging its global infrastructure to bring large-scale book access directly to Caribbean readers.

The fair will feature diverse book selections, children’s literacy activations, curated genre sections, and festive Caribbean Christmas music at both venues. Local food and beverage vendors will be present at Goodman’s Bay, complementing the library’s historical atmosphere. A portion of proceeds will be donated to Bahamas Library Information Services (BLIS) to support national literacy initiatives.

The event is a transformative moment for Caribbean publishing and a celebration of culture, education, and community. By hosting the fair in two nearby locations, WCB is creating a dynamic citywide experience that welcomes both residents and international visitors.

With its scale, dual-venue structure, and strategic timing during The Bahamas’ busiest tourism season, the World Caribbean Books Christmas Book Fair is poised to become a landmark annual event — blending holiday celebration with cultural enrichment and expanding the global reach of Caribbean literature.
